Our favourites from the Golden Globes

This year's 75th Golden Globe Awards was nothing like a traditional Hollywood red carpet event. The event was a milestone in a battle against workplace abuse, sexual harassment, and equality. Attendees chose to wear all-black outfits as a protest and a powerful symbol of solidarity.
While celebrities were dressed in chic dark gowns, the sparkling array of statement pieces of jewellery shined on the red carpet. We couldn't help but notice that emeralds were the ultimate favourites among all the gemstones, knowing that green stone symbolises hope, positive change, and growth, which sympathises with the all-black statement. Jewellers this year were Harry Winston, Chopard, Lorraine Schwartz, De Beers Forevermark and Fred Leighton to name but a few.
We created the list of our favourite pieces:
First up Zoe Kravitz rocked the statement Colombian Emerald earrings weighting 105 carats set in black jade by Lorraine Schwartz. Along with 25 carat Colombian (no oil) Emerald ring.

Dakota Johnson wowed in Nirav Modi earrings from the Luminance collection. The earrings featured a cascade of different diamond shapes designed to reflect plays of light enhanced by brilliant-cut diamonds in Nirav Modi’s signature Pixie setting. The look was finished off by two bangles from the Embrace collection.

Another showstopper from Lorraine Schwartz glistened on Issa Rae's neck, a 100carat diamond necklace with a 35 carat Colombian emerald in the centre, paired with 42carat Colombian emerald and diamond ring set in platinum.

Piaget International Brand Ambassador and Golden Globe Nominee, Jessica Chastain wore a pair of Piaget "Limelight Rose Passion" earrings featuring a total of 288 diamonds set in white gold.

Viola Davis was wrapped in Harry Winston diamonds. The "Secret Combination" necklace wrapped the neck with layers of 111.48 carats of white diamonds set in platinum.

The "13 reasons why" star Katherine Langford set the bar high at her first ever Golden Globes in Chopard "High Jewellery Collection" diamond earrings, a ring crafted with red spinels, blue sapphires, yellow diamonds, tsavorites and pink spinels set in 18k white gold; a ring featuring 5.17 carat emerald cut diamond in 18k white gold and another diamond ring set with 6.06 carats of diamonds. Although not diamonds, we can’t avoid mentioning her Swarovski crystal statement hair pieces from Jennifer Behr.

Mary J.Blige graced in statement pieces totaling over 80 carats from Chopard, including earrings crafted with pear-shaped diamonds and diamond beads set in 18k white gold from the "High Jewellery Collection"; a bracelet adorned with 50.34 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold and rings to match, of course.

Actress Alison Williams accessorised her strapless gown with one of a kind five strand diamond choker, crafted with more than 40 carats of Forevermark diamonds, put together with cushion eternity bands and oval cluster diamond rings.

This year's event presenter, Kate Hudson sparkled in vintage Harry Winston diamonds. The "Secret Wonder" diamond, sapphire and aquamarine pendant set in platinum, vintage 1969 Winston Cluster diamond earrings set in platinum and a 20.80 carat radiant cut yellow diamond ring set in 18k yellow gold and platinum.

Of the near $10 Million worth of Harry Winston jewels that graced the red carpet, Salma Hayek dazzled in more than $5million of it! An absolutely stunning 81.95 carat yellow diamond necklace, paired with yellow diamond drop earrings with cluster accents and 11.52 carat emerald cut diamond ring set in platinum.

Jewels and designer gowns aside, we're sure 2018's Golden Globes was one that will go down in history. We look forward to seeing the jewels that sparkle through the coming awards season.
