Louis Vuitton Blossom collection

27.02.17

Another brilliant collection from the well-established brand, Louis Vuitton. The famous French house has always been stealing the spotlight in the haute couture world with their intriguing and bold designs and now ready to claim their place among the sharks of the high jewellery society.

Louis Vuitton released their first high jewellery collection in 2001, featuring flexible bracelet with three flowers and LV logo. Nearly 17 years later, the brand has several themed collections and many amazing designs, making their iconic Monogram Flower- precious. Recently, Louis Vuitton extended The Blossom Haute Joaillerie Collection, which was firstly introduced in July 2016. The new jewellery collection blossoms in the subtle colour palette, from soft lavender to cool green shades. The designs capture the reflective sparkle of gemstones, spanning kaleidoscope of bejewelled brilliance from spinels to black opals and even rare tsavorites. Hand cut and polished gemstones form silhouettes that play on the contrast with crispy white diamonds and the fine metals, making each design harbour a surprise at every turn and facet. The play between contrasting planes of matte next to shiny and opaque versus crystalline create the weaving patterns and optical illusions. The striking combination of different cuts create enticing dimensions.

Although each piece tells its unique story, few stand out the most. The statement yet very delicate necklace crafted in white gold embedding diamonds, blue chalcedony insignia with 43.05ct bluish green beryl in the centre, suspended on the elegant string of lavender chalcedony beads.

Another highlight of the Haute Blossom Joallerie collection is the set of necklace, ring, few bracelets and earrings. The key piece of the set is the necklace, covering the entire chest area with around 60 carats diamonds, resembling the jewelled ruff collar.  A more moderate version of the necklace was made with a row of diamonds and a flower on the right-hand side, for everyday attire. The designers proposed few exquisite variations of bracelets, including the cuff with fine spanned diamonds, creating lacy patterns, netted around the 10.47 carat cushion cut spinel. Of course, the set could not be left out without earrings, flowing with colourless diamonds and two spinels shaped like drops. The complementing cocktail ring with 20,34 carat cushion cut spinel and 8.43 carat diamonds set in platinum to finish the look.

The real craftsmanship can be seen through the entire collection, especially the timepieces. Monogram flower in the centre of the Blossom clock is carved out from a single piece mother of pearl, making shapes and flower colours shimmer and flow smoothly into each other with every movement of the hand.  Each dial is set with diamonds, creating the snow placers effect. It's not only the flowers that attract attention but also the unique mechanism Tambour Spin Time. It displays the time by rotating diamond studded cubes arranged around the flower in the centre. The owner of such watches will carefully monitor the precious minutes of his time.

The Blossom Haute Joallierie collection is definitely an artistic manifestation of the Louis Vuitton vision, inviting to explore incredible treasures of the glittering garden. It remains to wait until the next collection to see what other brilliant ideas they got up the sleeve.
